T-Bill Decision Imminent: Rosaiah
Former Chief Minister Rosaiah stated that the Centre is considering the Telangana Bill and a decision on the same is imminent, and has to be accepted by all.
Stating that the Centre is giving serious thought to the demands of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, former Chief Minister K Rosaiah said on Sunday that the decision, whether in favour of splitting the state or letting it remain integrated, has to be accepted by all.
Rosaiah said that any decision taken by the Centre on the contentious issue will naturally go against the aspirations of either integrationists or those who favour bifurcation. "To ensure that peace prevails before, during and in the aftermath of such a momentous decision, all the parties concerned should mentally prepare to accept any decision on the issue," he said.
The former Chief Minister added that the intensity of agitations in favour of Telangana has risen to the point that even the sanctity of the Assembly was put under threat. This, he said, is not right.
The people and their representatives must remember that the decision on whether or not to split Andhra Pradesh is a major one, and it is natural that the Centre is considering all possible aspects before taking the final decision, he added.
Rosaiah said, "It is true that a problem exists in the Telangana region, and the Centre is giving serious thought to solve it." He said that the people, meanwhile, must observe restraint while the Centre looks for ways to solve the problem.
Turning his attention to the fee reimbursement issue, Rosaiah said that the government was trying its best to ensure that the careers of the students do not suffer. He also alleged that the opposition was taking advantage of the 'technical problems' being faced by the government in order to gain political mileage.
