Amid several political parties across the nation standing in support of the Centre and the Indian Army over the ongoing Indo-Pak tensions after the Uri terrorist attack, the Telangana's CPI branch today, while praising the Indian government and the Army, also expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating relations between the two nations.
"Pakistan has forced India to take action against them and their terrorist launch pads. We are aware that terrorism and militancy are part of the Pakistan government's foreign policy," the CPI said. "However we urge the Government Of India to continue using diplomacy, as it has been in the past week, to condemn Pakistan."
The Party urged the Centre to defuse tensions and open all possible channels to initiate dialogue with Pakistan in order to stop cross-border terrorism.
"The CPI firmly believes that escalation of hostilities cannot be an option for long-term peace and prosperity. The nation cannot afford another war," it added.
