The Telangana government today announced a hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees as a Dasara bonanza.
Upon Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's directive, the officials took the decision to hike the DA from 22.008% to 24.104% of the basic pay from January 1, 2017.
The government said that the hike would be effective from last January, and extended it to the employees of Zilla Parishads, Mandal Parishads, Gram Panchayats, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations, Agricultural Market Committees and Zilla Grandhalaya Samathis.
The increased DA will be given along with the salary from September, and the arrears will be added to the GPF account.
According to information, teaching and non-teaching staff of aided institutions including aided polytechnics and universities who are drawing pay on a regular scale are also eligible. Employees drawing the revised UGC pay scales 2006 will see a hike in the DA from 132% to 136% of the basic pay effective from January 1.
