BJP leader and MP Dharmapuri Arvind, who was stopped by the Telangana police from visiting riot-struck Bhainsa today, lashed out at the TRS state government and the MIM for failing to prevent a
recent incident of communal violence in the town.
The MP accused the MIM for precipitating the riot, and said, "The recent clash in Nirmal's Bhainsa was caused by the actions of MIM leader Mohammad Jabir Ahmed - it was all pre-planned. The leader and his followers have been illegally taking over the properties of the local Hindus in the area for some time now. When the victims of the land grabbing started to raise their voices and inform the world of their plight on social media, the local MIM leadership responded with violence."
"Nirmal has seen a series of communal clashes in the past few years. This is all because of the MIM. And, the TRS government has been sitting by, and watching all this like a mute spectator. The local law enforcement personnel too have acted inefficiently. To top it all, Home Minister Mohammad Mahamood Ali is an ineffective minister who does nothing to control such problems," he charged.
The BJP leader claimed that the TRS regime's reluctance to deal with the MIM's "misdemeanour" was the result of its attempt to secure Muslim votes.
Citing the alleged failure of the ruling party to deal with the issue, Arvind then stated that he would write a letter to central intelligence agencies, and demanded that the state government too order an inquiry on the Bhainsa violence.
The MP's anger is evident in a tweet that he published on his official Twitter account. It reads, "Wish the TRS govt had a fraction of interest, in protecting the lives & properties in Bhainsa, as it has in arresting me & stopping me from visiting the victims of #bhainsa violence. KCR's 'work from farmhouse' to suppress opposition & social media is appalling @HMOIndia @kishanreddybjp. (sic)"
His rant comes after a group of BJP leaders were stopped by the police from visiting the troubled town. Arvind was even placed under house arrest after he attempted to visit the town.
The recent clash in Bhainsa, that took place on Sunday, left nine people injured. Reports of arson also surfaced.
