A daring theft took place in Musabowli in Old City in broad daylight today. About 10 dacoits entered a gold ornaments shop and wreaked havoc.
The dacoits threatened the staff and customers with arms and looted about 5 kgs of gold.
The victims filed cases in this regard at the Charminar police station after the incident. The police launched a hunting operation to find out the details of the dacoits.
Speaking about it, DCP Satyanarayana said that the police had already detained five persons.
"About 10 to 12 people entered the shop at 12:30 pm, at which time about 21 workers were in the shop. The attackers threatened the workers with swords and tied them with ropes, and looted five kilograms of gold. We immediately plunged into the action, and started with the CC camera footage. We are suspecting the hand of some current and past workers, too, in the attack, since not a single worker obstructed the dacoits though there were 21 workers. Also, no one was hurt. We have some evidence already, and will solve the case very soon," he said.
