TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas today met AICC chief Rahul Gandhi and is reported to have expressed his desire to return to the Congress.
Refuting those rumours, however, Srinivas said that meeting Gandhi did not mean that he was joining the Congress.
"I had met many leaders of various parties earlier, and will meet them in future too," he said.
Srinivas, who joined the Congress in 1969, had switched loyalties to the TRS in 2015, a year after the party formed the first government in the newly-created Telangana. He had served as a minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh, and had also headed the Congress' state unit (the PCC). He has run into rough weather in the TRS lately with Nizamabad MP K Kavitha accusing him of anti-party activities and asking her father and TRS boss KCR for his ouster, and his son being accused of sexual harassment by girls of a hostel he runs.
