The Communist Party of India (CPI) blamed its alliance with the Congress party for its poor performance in the recently concluded elections.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the CPI State Executive meeting in Hyderabad, Narayana said that the CPI had lost badly due to its tie-up with the Congress.
Expressing regret for entering into a pre-poll alliance with the Congress, he said that the results would have been different had the CPI contested the elections alone.
He said that the traditional vote bank of the Congress did not vote for the CPI candidates, and the party suffered a further jolt due to the anti-incumbency feeling against the Congress.
Narayana alleged that all political parties including the CPI (M) had used money-power to change the results in their favour.
He claimed that his allegations against the CPI (M) were not baseless. (INN)
