"Cong, TDP Buying Voters In Kadapa"
TRS floor leader Etela Rajender has accused the Congress and the TDP of distributing money and liquor to lure voters in the Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) floor leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender on Tuesday accused both the ruling and opposition parties who have fielded candidates for the by-elections in the Kadapa district of resorting to distributing money and liquor to lure voters.
Talking to media persons, the TRS leader alleged that both the Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) were trying to influence the voters of Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies.
"The Congress and the TDP are apprehensive that their candidates would lose the by-elections, and are flouting the rules and regulations of democracy. This is a gross violation of ethics and the Election Code," Rajender said.
Incidentally, the TRS leader had earlier branded leaders from Telangana who had campaigned for their respective party candidates in the Kadapa district as "Telangana traitors".
Rajender, however, on Tuesday said that he hoped that the people of the constituencies for which the by-elections are being held, would vote for those candidates who protect democratic principles and look into people's problems.
The TRS leader also demanded that the Centre disclose the contents of the 8th chapter of the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee Report on the separate Telangana statehood issue.
Condemning the alleged irregularities in the NTR Health University, Rajender demanded that the state government establish a branch of the varsity in Hyderabad to protect the interests of Telangana students. (INN)
