Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today hit out the TRS-led state government claiming that it had failed the farmers of the state whose crops had been hit.
He said that the crops had been damaged in a lot of places including the Manthani and Madira Assembly constituencies represented by the Congress, but that the government was not doing anything.
He said that the state government had given the input subsidy only in 2015.
He said that the state government would receive financial assistance from the union government if it sends proposals seeking such assistance after an assessment of the quantum of the crop loss.
He also lamented that 52% of the farmers in the state were tenant farmers, but were not eligible for the Rythu bandhu scheme. He demanded that the state government come to the rescue of the tenant farmers.
