The Telangana Congress demanded that the CM convene a special Assembly session to pass a resolution against the three new "anti-farmers" laws of the Centre.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly to pass a unanimous resolution against the three new "anti-farmers" laws introduced by the BJP government at the Centre.
Further, Reddy asked the Chief Minister to pass new laws in the state Legislature under Article 254 (2) of the Constitution to override the Central laws.
Addressing a press conference through Zoom, Reddy announced that the Congress would organise massive protests before the statues of Mahatma Gandhi or district Collectorates across Telangana on Friday as part of a nation-wide agitation demanding the withdrawal of the controversial agricultural laws.
He asked the party cadre to participate in large numbers to make the program a huge success.
Besides holding protests in all the district Headquarters on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanthi), Reddy said that the Congress would also launch a signature campaign against the new laws. He said that the Congress planned to collect nearly two crore signatures from across the country, and that the signatures would be submitted to President Ram Nath Kovind by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on November 14.
The TPCC chief expressed strong suspicion of the sincerity of the Telangana Chief Minister in opposing the three new laws. He said that the Chief Minister's opposition to the new laws was an eye-wash and the the latter was still backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he had done in the past.
To prove his honesty and commitment towards the farmers of Telangana, KCR should immediately convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly not only to pass a unanimous resolution against the laws, but also to pass state-level laws to override the three laws.
