Congress Slams Owaisi For Asking Muslims To Vote For TRS
The Telangana Congress accused Asaduddin Owaisi of misleading the Muslim community for his vested interests.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy today criticized MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for exhorting Muslims to vote for the TRS in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, the TPCC chief accused Owaisi of misleading the Muslim community for his vested interests. Owaisi wanted the criminal cases registered against his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi to be withdrawn, and the state government to give them prime land worth Rs 40 crores for just Rs 4 crores, and that was the reason for his love for the TRS, Reddy claimed.
Reddy said that it was surprising that Asaduddin Owaisi considered the TRS a benefactor of the Muslims. TRS chief KCR, during the 2014 election campaigning, had promised to increase the quota for Muslims in jobs and education to 12%, but had not delivered on it, Reddy pointed out. Under the TRS regime, almost 90% of the minorities' institutions were closed, Reddy also claimed. And while the Hyderabad Metro had come to vast swathes of Hyderabad, it was not even being constructed for the Old City, he pointed out.
KCR had also failed to establish a world-class Islamic Centre in Hyderabad despite promising one, and had announced four years ago that a Rubaat would be constructed in Ajmer but had not spent a single rupee for that.
KCR was also friends with the BJP, Reddy alleged. After Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, the Centre had reduced funding for minorities' welfare, but KCR had never spoken against Modi regarding the issue. "Muslims all across the country were being targeted after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, but KCR is quite friendly with the BJP. People should realize that the 'Bada Bhai' is in Delhi and 'Chota Bhai' is in Hyderabad. KCR is an agent of Modi," he charged.
"Agar Modi ko hatana hai, yahan chotay Modi ko bhi harana hai," Reddy declared.
Senior Congress leaders, including K Jana Reddy, Saleem Ahmed, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Abid Rasool Khan and Shaik Abdullah Sohail were present.
