Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy is likely to join the BJP.
It is reliably learnt that Reddy is preparing the ground to join the saffron party.
Close aides of the MLA said that Reddy had met union home minister Amit Shah and other important leaders of the BJP secretly three days back in Delhi.
Shah and Reddy held talks for 45 minutes. Shah reportedly asked Reddy to join the BJP during the meeting.
It is learnt that BJP MP from Jharkhand Nishikant Dubey mediated between the BJP leadership, Shah and Reddy.
Reddy and Dubey are said to be close friends as they did business together in Jharkhand.
Responding to the reports, Reddy did not categorically state that he would join the BJP, saying only that he would join the political party which had the power to defeat Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his TRS in Telangana.
He alleged that the ruling party was stopping funds to his constituency in order to prevent its development, and said that he would work with the sole aim of defeating the CM in Telangana.
Reddy added that the ruling party had not done anything for the development of the State, and that the TRS leaders had instead siphoned off public money by building sub-standard projects.
