Telangana Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar today condemned the "threatening tone" of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao against the TSRTC employees (KCR had dared the TSRTC employees to go on strike).
Ponnam alleged that the Chief Minister was speaking like a dictator. Why didn't the CM speak in the same manner even before the RTC employee union elections, he asked, claiming that KCR was once again displaying his "use-and-throw" habit.
Ponnam said that the TSRTC employees' union leaders had also turned sycophants of KCR, and that KCR was continuing retired officer Ramana Rao as the TSRTC managing director because the latter was his relative, resulting in no one to turn to for the employees.
He called upon the RTC employees to teach a fitting lesson to KCR in the coming elections.
He also demanded that the state government immediately solve the problems of the employees.
Telangana BJP president Dr K Laxman alleged that KCR was resorting to blackmailing the RTC union leaders.
Condemning the "intimidating tactics" of KCR, Laxman said that the RTC employees had played a critical role during the Telangana agitation, and wondered how KCR could forget that.
How could KCR say that the RTC employees responsible for the corporation's losses, he asked, and demanded that the government concede their just demands.
The BJP leader also said that though some 5,000 employees had retired during the last five years, there was no recruitment to fill those vacant posts. The state government should immediately fill those vacancies, he said.
