Congress Approaches HC For Permission To Visit Secretariat
The Telangana High Court today admitted a PIL by senior Congress leaders urging it to issue orders to them to visit the site of the demolished Telangana Secretariat.
The Telangana High Court today admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by senior Congress leaders including ex-minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir, and MPs A Revanth Reddy and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy urging it to issue orders to them to visit the site of the demolished Telangana Secretariat.
The High Court is likely to take up the hearing of the case during the next couple of days.
For the uninitiated, Revanth Reddy has been alleging that there is a huge hidden treasure trove under the G-block of the demolished Secretariat building, that KCR is really after.
The party has also been protesting the demolition of the Nalla Pochamma temple and a mosque located in the Secretariat complex.
In their petition the leaders told the High Court that that they had been receiving several complaints from different people and NGOs on the issue, and that there was a need to inspect the demolition site to find out what the situation was at the ground level.
The leaders also told the court that there were reports prepared by the state government authorities in the past that there was hidden treasure under the G-block of the now-demolished complex.
They told the court that they would conduct a fact-finding visit, and urged it to issue orders to the state government to allow them to carry out the visit.
