Congress activists today held a massive protest at the Godavarikhani crossroads in Ramagundam district demanding that the State government pay an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore to the family members of Ramagundam Fertilizers Corporation Limited (RFCL) job scam victim Harish.
They also demanded that the State government provide a government job to one of the family members of the victim.
The party in-charge for the Ramagundam Assembly constituency Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, DCC president B Rajesh and Adluri Laxman Kumar took part in the dharna.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress activists said that Harish had committed suicide as the authorities concerned did not take any action against those accused in the scam, and promised to fight on behalf of all the victims of the scam.
The activists said that local TRS MLA Korukanti Chander should take the initiative to ensure payment of ex-gratia to the family members of the victim and to get one of them a government job.
They alleged that Chander was feigning ignorance about the scam despite facing allegations that he also had a role in it, and said that he should resign from his post if he failed to do justice to the family members of the victim.
They also said that local minister Koppula Eshwar should also take responsibility to help the victims of the scam and do justice to them.
