Former Congress MLA Baji Reddy Govardhan on Tuesday charged the high command of rewarding the detractors of the former chief minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, and his son, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, by giving them positions in the state cabinet.
Lashing out at a section of the Congress leaders for targeting Jaganmohan Reddy and his late father, Govardhan said that their words against the two leaders may have earned them ministerial berths, but they would have to face the people sooner or later, and that they would have to justify their comments.
Talking to media persons at the Public Gardens, the former MLA criticized minister for health D L Ravindra, minister for handloom and textiles P Shankar Rao, and Indira Gandhi 20 point economic program chairman Tulasi Reddy, for unnecessarily targeting the YSR family members.
"Following the footsteps of the ministers, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chairman was making baseless comments against the departed leader and his son," said Govardhan.
He also expressed his regrets at the high command's decision of nominating D Srinivas, who had lost the Assembly elections twice in the Telangana region, for the PCC president post.
Stating that the Congress is not moving in right direction, Govardhan expressed fears that the leaders who have been rejected by the people would become the members of the Congress core committee soon.
