CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has completed 350 km in his ongoing People's March padayatra, which entered its 35th day today.
He received a warm welcome from the residents of Kalva Srirampur that he entered today. The CLP leader interacted with the people of the village to find out about their problems.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti said that he was not meeting them as part of an election campaign, but to find out their problems and fight until they were solved.
He said that his aim was to bring back Indiramma Rajyam in Telangana, and that he was holding the padayatra to drive out the problems of the poor people of the State and take steps for delivering various kinds of welfare programs to them.
Targeting MLA Manohar Reddy, Bhatti said that the Telangana State was formed for the people of the State and not for the development of the MLA. He alleged that Reddy had not done any development work in his Peddapalle Assembly constituency in the last nine years, and that he was only selling off all its natural resources and filing false cases against his political rivals. He said the people of the constituency were not able to bear the torture of Reddy.
He also alleged that the people of the State were not receiving any benefits in their own State under the BRS rule. The Peddapalle constituency did not get water for even a single additional acre in the last nine years of the BRS rule, and was getting water from the Sriramsagar project which was built by the Congress government, Bhatti claimed. He also said that the five check dams built by Manohar Reddy were washed away in a single spell of rains.
Bhatti promised that the Congress would give Rs 5 lakh to each of the homeless poor families upon coming to power, and gas cylinders for Rs 500. He also said that the party would implement a new scheme called Coolie Bandhu and give Rs 12,000 to poor labourers on the lines of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
"We will also give pattas for 13 lakh acres of podu lands after coming into power," he said.
