The South Zone team of the Hyderabad City Police took 113 persons, including a few Bangladeshi and Mynamarese nationals, into custody during a massive cordon and search operation conducted in the Old City on Tuesday.
The 113 taken into custody had failed to provide any identification documents.
The cordon and search operation was conducted at Hafez Baba Nagar in the early hours of Tuesday. Around 400 policemen from different units including the Telangana State Special Police, City Armed Reserve, Task Force and civil police cordoned off the C Block area of Hafez Baba Nagar and conducted a house-to-house search.
"All 113 persons taken into custody failed to provide any identification documents. We suspect that a few of them are foreign nationals staying illegally in the country. We will verify their credentials and take necessary action," South Zone DCP V Satyanarayana said.
The police also seized 30 vehicles as the owners failed to provide proper documents. (INN)
