Two students from Hyderabad shared the top score with another from Vijayawada in the Engineering Agriculture And Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) 2010 in the medical stream, while students from Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Guntur shared the honours for aspirants of the engineering stream.
The results for the EAMCET were released by Technical Education Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana at
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kukatpally, on Wednesday morning.
Medical aspirants N Rahul and R Lalitha from Hyderabad made the city proud by sharing top marks with Kiranmaiyee from Vijayawada. All the 3 students scored 156 marks in the test.
Mohammed Ghouse Jani from Visakhapatnam, Boyapati Pallavi from Vijayawada and Janardhan Reddy from Guntur aggregated 159 marks to share the topper's spot in the engineering stream.
About 88.7% of the engineering aspirants were declared as qualified, while 93.7% of the medical aspirants had qualified (from the 3,16,083 aspirants who had taken the test for the Engineering stream, 2,80,396 were declared as qualified, while 47,936 students qualified from the 51,186 who took the test).
Meanwhile, boys have dominated the engineering stream while girls showed their mettle in the medical stream.
Authorities have declared that the last date for seeking revaluation and re-verification is June 26. Counselling will begin from the 3rd week of July.
The ranks of the students will be given after the Intermediate Supplementary Examinations results are declared.
