G Balaramaiah, the secretary of the Board Of Intermediate Education (BIE), announced the Intermediate 1st year results on Saturday. Out of the 1,19,120 students who sat for the examination, 48.56% attained distinction.
Boys obtained a pass percentage of 45% on an average, while girls scored 53%. Students from Krishna district scored the highest in the state, while those from Rangareddy came second. Nalgonda region turned out to have scored the least.
Students may apply for recounting on or before the 5th of May. The results of the Intermediate 2nd year examintaions will be announced a week from now, mostly around the 30th of April.
