Komatireddy Seeks CBI Probe Against CM
Former minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy wants a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the sanctioning of a water project in Chittoor district by Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Former minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy on Friday announced that he would approach the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking its directions for a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the sanctioning of a water project in Chittoor district by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Komatireddy alleged that the Chief Minister and others have received kickbacks and sanctioned the project in violation of the rules, and that therefore, a CBI enquiry should be conducted to expose the scam.
The former minister also praised Sridhar Babu for resigning from the cabinet to protest against the stripping of Sridhar Babu's portfolio of Legislative Affairs. He said that all ministers from the Telangana region should also resign from the cabinet to express their solidarity with Sridhar Babu. He said that the change of portfolio not only was an insult to the minister, but had also hurt the sentiments of Telangana people.
Komatireddy said that Kiran Kumar Reddy had became the Chief Minister through a "lottery", and that therefore, he was fit for the post.
He alleged that the Chief Minister had lost his mental balance after the Centre cleared the demand for the formation of Telangana. He also ridiculed T G Venkatesh's advice to Telangana ministers, and said that TGV himself enjoys no respect in his home district Kurnool, where protestors have pelted eggs and stones on his convoy multiple times.
