TDP Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayanakar Rao on Tuesday claimed that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu would not change his stand over the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Errabelli admitted that Naidu was under immense pressure from the Seemandhra leaders, in the party, to withdraw the letter that he had given in favour of the formation of a separate Telangana state.
However, he added that Naidu will not withdraw the letter at any cost.
A decision to this effect was also taken during the meeting organised by the TDP Telangana leaders, at the party headquarters, NTR Trust Bhavan, on Tuesday morning, he said.
Errabelli also condemned the TDP Seemandhra leaders for meeting President Pranab Mukherjee seeking a united Andhra Pradesh.
He said that the leaders from Telangana region also wanted to meet the President during his visit to the city.
However, the request was declined by the President’s Secretariat.
"The TDP Telangana leaders are now planning to visit Delhi, to meet the President, to request him to hasten up the process of formation of Telangana state," Errabelli said. (INN)
