Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu may take the oath as the Chief Minister of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh on June 9.
According to sources, Naidu is planning to conduct the oath-taking ceremony either in Tirupati or in Guntur on June 9.
Earlier in the day, Naidu stated that he planned to take oath on an auspicious day immediately after June 2. However, sources say that Naidu is planning to invite Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister-in-waiting, for the oath-taking ceremony, and therefore is delaying the ceremony by about a week after the Appointed Day on June 2.
Naidu may induct one minister from each of the 13 districts of the Seemandhra region in the first phase, and expand his cabinet after 1 month.
Earlier on Saturday, Naidu called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan to discuss various issues. He was accompanied by senior IAS officer I Y R Krishna Rao, who is tipped to be the Chief Secretary for the residuary Andhra Pradesh State. (INN)
