Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today inaugurated the residual State's new Assembly building constructed in the new capital city Amaravathi.
The building, equipped with many modern facilities and technology, was constructed at Velagapudi in record time of 192 days.
Addressing the gathering after the inauguration of the new Assembly building, the Chief Minister said that in spite of hurdles from some quarters, development of the state would continue at breakneck speed.
Recalling the events of the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh, Naidu said that the citizens had come here with a heavy heart after losing all that they had created over 58 years. There were only problems and no money.
"But our determination to work hard has yielded good results, and today we have built a modern assembly building with many state-of-the-art facilities," he said.
The precautions taken in the construction of new building were that nobody could break mikes and no attacks could be carried out on the Assembly Speaker, Naidu said.
The government had a target to make Andhra Pradesh the number one state in the country by 2029, the CM added. Expressing happiness over the functioning of his government, he said that Andhra Pradesh was the only state which had achieved double digit growth, and as a result bagged many awards. He claimed that he always strove hard and with dedication, and despite all provocations, kept his head down and focused on his work for the welfare of the people.
Union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, Council Chairman Chakrapani, Council Deputy Chairman Buddhaprasad, and state ministers China Rajappa, K E Krishnamurthy, Narayana, Prattipat Pulla Rao, Ganta Srinivas Rao, Ravela Kishorebabu, Pithala Sujata and others attended the function.
