Telugu Desam Party chief and Chief Minister Designate of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday advised his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao to restrain from making provocative statements.
Addressing a press conference at NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad, Naidu condemned KCR's recent remarks on Seemandhra employees.
He said that as the Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR had the responsibility of providing security to everyone in the new State.
He said that all the political parties and leaders in Telangana and Seemandhra should work for the betterment of the Telugu-speaking people, and should avoid hurting each other's sentiments.
He claimed that he brought global recognition to Hyderabad after much struggle. Citing an instance, he said that he took lot of pain in bringing Microsoft to Hyderabad.
Naidu said that the TDP would work for the development of both Telangana and Seemandhra.
He said both the States should witness growth, and injustice should not be done to anyone. He said that both the states should compete with each other in development.
He informed that he would take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at an auspicious time immediately after June 2, the Appointed Day.
The TDP chief also confirmed his participation in the oath-taking ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India.
He said that he was working closely with Modi in the interests of the nation in general, and the Telugu-speaking people in particular.
Earlier, Naidu called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan and discussed several issues including the bifurcation of the State, the division of employees, and the allocation of IAS and IPS officers.
His meeting with the Governor lasted about two hours. (INN)
