A relentless war for assets has been going on among the kin of popular Telugu music director Chakri, who died a year ago.
His mother Vidyavathi and his brother began a hunger strike for "justice" at Sargamvill in Somajiguda on Tuesday.
Talking to mediapersons, they alleged that one Madhavi had been staying in Chakri's villa without permission from the family members.
They felt that Chakri's wife was behind Madhavi not vacating the villa.
Chakri's brother said that Chakri's wife had gone to the US after selling all of the assets of Chakri to others. Madhavi hadn't been paying rent for the past eight months, and was not vacating the villa, his mother and he alleged.
They said that Madhavi was harassing them, and did not respond to a legal notice served on her.
"We are paying the EMIs for the villa. Madhavi is not responding to even phone calls. She appears to have put our mobile numbers on a blocked list, but we are continuing to send text messages to her," Chakri's brother said.
Chakri's brother said that the cost of the villa was more than Rs 1 crore.
