Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday expressed confidence that the Centre would find a solution to the Telangana issue soon.
Talking to media persons, Botsa sought to remind those present of a recent statement by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that the Centre would find a favourable solution to the Telangana issue within 2 months. He said the Centre was making total efforts to solve all problems in the state, including the issue of bifurcation.
Responding to the resignation of rebel MLAs owing allegiance to YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, he said Speaker Nadendla Manohar would take a decision on their fate.
"It is purely up to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar to decide whether to accept or reject their resignations," he stated.
Responding to Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu's offer of disclosing his assets, he said he doubts if Naidu would really do that.
He said Naidu was merely making statements and trying to draw some mileage out of the pro Anna Hazare demonstrations in the state.
Botsa had a meeting with party workers in Visakhapatnam, and then proceeded to Tuni to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a drinking water project established with an estimated Rs. 8.5 crore.
He also had a darshan of Lord Satyanarayana Swamy at Annavaram, where he performed special pujas.
Botsa will also participate in a 2-day bus yatra from Tuni to East Godavari district to get some first-hand information on farmers' problems, who have declared a crop holiday in the region. Minister Thota Narsimham will accompany the PCC chief in his bus yatra. (INN)
