Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Thursday told the Telangana Assembly that all Andhra natives working in the Police department in the Telangana couldn't be transferred at one go as that would create shortage of manpower besides posing security risks.
Replying to a question in the House that after bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh a total of 10,315 employees in the Police department were allotted to the AP, the Home Minister said that only 2,447 employees were yet to be relieved and that it would be done in a phased manner in consultation with the counterpart in the neighbouring Telugu State.
The Minister further explained that if all were to be relieved at once, as was being insisted by TRS member Srinivas Goud, it would have negative impact on the State's security, especially to VIPs. It would also create law and order problems.
He also informed that the State government was in the process of recruiting 9,000 odd police personnel from various cadres before relieving native AP officers.
