Addressing a public meeting at the Indervelly mandal headquarters in Adilabad district, the CM said that the Congress government was certainly going to fill 2 lakh vacant government posts in the State, and that it had already given 7,000 jobs since it had come to power.
Reddy added that two more guarantees, including gas cylinders for Rs 500 each and supply of electricity for free up to 200 units, of the six that the Congress had promised the people of Telangana, would also be implemented soon.
"Currently the price of a gas cylinder is Rs 1,200, but it will soon be given to women for Rs 500. Similarly, the promise of free electricity up to 200 units will be delivered upon soon," the CM said.
Reddy also claimed that the Congress government was taking various measures for the welfare of women in Telangana, and that so far loans worth more than Rs 60 crore had been distributed to 1,450 Self Help Groups through the rural development department.
He also said that the Congress had already tendered an apology to the people on the atrocities against tribals at Indervelly in 1981, and that the mistake had happened during the tenure of the combined Andhra Pradesh rulers, whose depradations against the people of the Telangana region were the reason that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi had granted statehood to the region.
Responding to the remarks made by some BRS leaders that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao would become the CM in three months again, Reddy said that nobody had the guts to topple the Congress government.
