Congress leader Revanth Reddy said the CAG report proved that corruption had indeed taken place in Telangana's power purchase agreements as alleged by his party.
Congress leader A Revanth Reddy said that the CAG report proved that corruption had indeed taken place in power purchase agreements as alleged by his party, and demanded a white paper on the state's financial status.
Speaking at the Assembly media point today, Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of making the state bankrupt with his profligate borrowing and spending, and using false publicity to give an impression that the state had a surplus budget to borrow.
There was a huge gap between the revenue and expenditure of the state, Reddy said, and alleged that the Chief Minister had no grip on governance and financial management.
He also claimed that the Chief Minister was trying to remove Finance Minister Etela Rajender to portray the latter as responsible for the economic bankruptcy of the state.
Reddy also said that the Chief Minister was paying bills to contractors through a green channel without any link with the finance department.
"We are preparing a report on the hollowness of the financial status of the KCR government," he said, and demanded that KCR resign from his post.
