C M Says Happy Vijayadasami, And All Is Well With A P

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday wished the people of Andhra Pradesh a happy and prosperous Vijayadasami.

In a special message to the people of the State on the eve of the Dasara festival, the Chief Minister said, “Let good triumph over the evil as the legend behind the festival goes, and let us all live in peace, happiness and prosperity". He said that Andhra Pradesh was making rapid strides in every sphere and is regarded as investors' best destination. Many international conferences and events are taking place in the State and better times are ahead, he said.

"We have successfully conducted the Global Biodiversity meet participated by delegates from over 170 countries. The World Allergy doctors conference, and the World Agricultural Congress will by hosted by Hyderabad while the World Telugu Conference will take place in December in Tirupati", he announced. The Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh is a happening state and with the completion of the Outer Ring Road and the Hyderabad Metro Rail, Hyderabad will become a world class city.

The Chief Minister akcnowledged that the state has been endowed with rich natural resources and a long coastline. It is industrially strong and is one of the biggest agricultural producing state contributing to the Nation's food security. It is also one of the tourists' paradise in the country, he said.

The Chief Minister reminded that many new schemes like Re.1-a-kg rice scheme to benefit 2.26 crore families and 7.5 crore people, 0% interest crop loans up to Rs.1 lakh for farmers and SHG women, Indira Jala Prabha by which 10 lakh parcels of fallow land belonging to people of SCs/ST categories will be brought under cultivation, 15 lakh new jobs for unemployed youth through Rajiv Yuvakiranaalu, filling up of 1.16 lakh government jobs, pensions to all deserving classes, Indiramma Housing etc., issuing of certificates and licenses electronically through a transparent system like Mee Seva and the release of funds for priority schemes through green channel etc. will be implemented in earnest as per schedule.

Notification process for recruitment to 1.16 lakh government jobs is on and department vacancies have already been notified. Another most important scheme is the 0% interest crop loans to the tune of Re.1 lakh to benefit 95 lakh farmers who makes prompt repayment. Kiran Kumar Reddy said we have taken up many major irrigation projects, out of which 12 were completed and works on many more projects are in full swing on priority basis. No other State in the country has taken up irrigation projects in such a massive scale spending such huge amounts, he added. The Chief Minister also hoped that Polavaram and Pranahitha-Chevella would be declared National Projects. He wished the people of the State a happy Dasara and said his government will see that the fruits of all welfare schemes reach the real beneficiaries in right earnest. (INN)
