A delegation of Muslim scholars and leaders led by All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) president Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and including AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali called on the Chief Minister at Pragathi Bhavan today and explained to him the consequences of the implementation of a UCC in India.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister found fault with the attitude of the BJP government at the Centre for trying to introduce a UCC bill in Parliament at a time when the people of the country were facing various problems.
He said that the BJP government was trying to divide the people in the name of UCC, and said that the BRS would strongly oppose the implementation of the UCC by joining hands with other like-minded parties in the country.
