Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, former minister and BRS MLA Malla Reddy's meeting today with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shiva Kumar has triggered plenty of chatter in the political circles.
Speculations are going around in the social media that Reddy has made up his mind to join the Congress along with his son-in-law and BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, who represents the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency.
Malla Reddy and his son Bhadra Reddy called on Shiva Kumar in a hotel in Bangalore and reportedly sought an appointment to meet Priyanka Gandhi.
However, Malla Reddy denied all rumours of his joining the Congress, and said that he had called on Shiva Kumar to talk about buying a university with the help of a mediator.
"I will stay in the BRS for five years and will serve the people of my constituency. I am now 71 years old, and will not contest the next Assembly elections. I have no intention of joining the Congress," Malla Reddy said.
