Boycott Sakshi Newspaper: V Hanumantha Rao

Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, on Monday, called upon Congress leaders to boycott Sakshi's newspaper and TV channel, as it has been carrying a "malicious campaign" against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan after participating in the 21st death anniversary function of former PM Rajiv Gandhi, he said that Jagan has been publishing Sakshi merely with an aim to damage the images of the state government and the ruling party.

He said that though YSR had launched the newspaper to support the Congress' schemes and programs, Jagan has reversed its priority after his father's death, and had started tirade against the government and the Congress, with an eye on power.

Accusing Jagan of misusing the media to protect his selfish interests and to shield himself from the CBI's investigation and arrest, he, however, said that no one was above the law, and that the law would take its own course.

Meanwhile, in protest against Sakshi's stories against the ruling party, Congress MLC Farooq Hussain burnt copies of the newspaper in front of Gandhi Bhavan. He called upon the party rank and file in the districts to boycott the newspaper and channel. (INN)
