The Telugu Desam Party, on Wednesday, raised serious objection to the state government advertising in the newspaper and on the TV channel of Sakshi.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP MLC Y V B Rajendra Prasad demanded that the government explain why advertisements and notifications were being released to Sakshi's newspaper and TV channel despite a GO having been issued against it.
The TDP leader stated that the government had issued a GO, stopping the release of all government advertisements and notifications to Sakshi, following the CBI's report that the newspaper and channel were established with the proceeds of ill-gotten money. However, now the government itself has violated the GO, he alleged.
Rajendera Prasad accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of having a "secret pact" with YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, over the advertisements.
"This move exposes Kiran Kumar Reddy's indirect link with Jagan," he stated.
He also condemned the YSR Congress targeting TDP leaders in connection with the Emaar properties issue. Stating that the government had allotted 531 acres of land to Emaar Properties during the TDP's regime, he said that lands were allotted then as per the existing market rate. He claimed that the then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu did not resort to any irregularities. He also challenged YSR Congress party for an open debate on the issue. (INN)
