Don't Dig For Issues In Non-Issues: Sridhar Babu
A majority of the guests who attended the marriage are VVIPs and deserve to get facilities as per the protocol, said Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu.
Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu on Monday condemned the criticism of opposition parties over the arrangements made for guests during the marriage of Pradesh Congress Committee president Bosta Satyanarayana's daughter in Vizianagaram district.
In an informal talk with the reporters at the State Secretariat, Sridhar Babu said that a majority of guests who attended the marriage were VVIPs and deserved to get facilities as per the protocol. He said that being the Leader of the Opposition, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrabababu Naidu got all the facilities as per the protocol even if he attended private functions anywhere in the state. He argued that the officials had only followed the protocol, and that no specific instructions had been given, or arrangements had been made for the guests.
Sridhar Babu said that Botsa himself was a minister and therefore, most of the VVIPs who were invited by him had attended the marriage function. In view of the high profile of the visiting guests, the district administration had made arrangements for the upkeep of law and order and security.
The minister accused the opposition parties of trying to politicise the marriage and create a controversy out of a non-issue. (INN)
