The Andhra Pradesh government received a blow in the apex court of the state over its (the former's) decision to reduce the prices of movie tickets in the state.
The HC allowed the petitioners to fix the prices of the tickets in the old method.
The HC also suspended GO No. 35 issued by the state government for reducing the ticket rates.
The theatre owners of the state had approached the High Court challenging the decision of the state government to reduce ticket prices. They told the HC that the decision of the state government was unfair, and that they had the right to increase the ticket prices whenever a new movie was released.
The HC agreed with the arguments of the counsel for the petitioners, and issued orders suspending the orders of the state government.
