GO Portal Blocking: T-Congress Files RTI Petition

The Telangana Congress has urged the state government to provide information on its blocking of the GO portal, under the Right to Information Act.

TPCC chief official spokesperson Dr Sravan Kumar has urged the General Administration Department to provide information on the blocking of the portal http://goir.telangana.gov.in by the Telangana government, under the Right to Information Act.

On Saturday, Sravan petitioned to the Public Information Officer, General Administration Department, Government of Telangana. He sought answers to the following:

1. From which date onwards was the website http://goir.telangana.gov.in in operation?
2. What are the rules and guidelines that necessitated the government to initiate and operate the web portal http://goir.telangana.gov.in?
3. Which department in the Telangana government is authorised to update / upload the Government Orders and manage the website?
4. What is the name and designation of the authorized person responsible for maintaining the website?
5. Upon whose orders was the website blocked?
6. What are the criteria for classifying or categorising Government Orders as confidential?

Sravan also sought a copy of the orders based on which the website was blocked.
