City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Tuesday imposed prohibitory orders in the city limits in view of "Black Day", the 21st anniversary of the infamous demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, on December 6.
The Commissioner said that he had reliable information that certain groups were trying to create disturbances affecting public peace and order in Hyderabad city, inciting communal animosity between different communities in connection with the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.
Therefore, the Commissioner has prohibited every kind of procession, dharna, rally or public meetings on thet day. Also, individuals and groups of individuals are prohibited from making any speech or gesture, or displaying pictures, symbols, placards and flags that is/are likely to create religious animosity or hatred between different communities or individuals or is likely to cause disturbance to the public peace and order in the limits of Hyderabad, except those expressly permitted by the police.
The prohibitory orders would be in force from December 6 to 8. (INN)
