Demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his entire cabinet, the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a "Maha Rally" in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The rally was part of the nation-wide protest held by the BJP against the UPA government, for the several scams that were exposed in its tenure.
Senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, who led the rally from Baghlingampally to RTC Crossroads, said that people across the country want change, and that they would throw the UPA out of power in the next elections.
He said that he hopes that the BJP-led NDA would return to power at the Centre and free the country from scams.
Later, BJP leaders, including state president G Kishan Reddy and Bandaru Dattatreyya, were later taken into custody by the police, and shifted to a nearby police station. They were released later. (INN)
