BJP Slams KCR On Anti-Electricity-Bill Resolution

The Centre had only sent a draft bill and sought suggestions from the states, the party said.
Hyderabad | 17th September 2020
Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay today lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the passing of a resolution in the recent Assembly session against the proposed Electicity Amendment Bill of the Centre.

Addressing a press conference, he accused the KCR government of making false charges on the bill.

The Centre had only sent a draft bill and sought suggestions from the states, he said.

Although the bill was not introduced in Parliament, the KCR government had indulged in a malicious campaign, he claimed.

The draft bill did not bat against free power for the agricultural sector or any other sectors and in spite of that the state government was resorting to scurrilous talk on it, Sanjay said, and slammed the government for the resolution and KCR for his remarks.

He also urged the Centre to hold a review on the power contracts of the state government before the ERC came into force.
