Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today mocked the comments of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that cloudbursts triggered by foreigners were behind the Godavari floods.
Bandi termed the comments of the CM as the joke of the century, and said that the CM had come up with a new excuse to hide his failures.
He made these remarks during a tele-conference with the district presidents of the party.
Commenting on the inspection of the flood-hit areas by KCR, Bandi said that the people were laughing at the inspections of the CM, too.
He also alleged that Asia's largest irrigation project, the Kaleswaram lift irrigation project, was severely damaged in the floods due to the failures of the CM.
Referring to the announcement of the CM that his government would build 10,000 houses for the homeless families and a bund on the Godavari river, he said that KCR was once again trying to cheat people with false promises.
He said that instead of focusing on doing a good job of running the State, the CM was dedicating his time to blaming the union government and holding talks with the leaders of other regional political parties of the country to further his political aims.
Sanjay also called upon the BJP cadre to come to the rescue of the flood victims. He said that the workers should work as hard as they did during the pandemic days, visiting the affected villages and extending help to the victims. He also praised those leaders and workers who were already taking part in the flood relief operations.
Former minister and BJP MLA Eatala Rajender also mocked the comments of KCR about a foreign conspiracy being behind the recent floods in Telangana.
Responding to the comments of the CM, Eatala said that KCR was losing his senses. He advised the CM not make such statements as he was holding a responsible position. Asking the CM how a foreign conspiracy would be behind the recent floods, he reminded him that experiments like a cloud-seeding program held in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh to prevent drought did not yield any results.
