Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that as part of Telangana's policy of having cordial relations with its neighbouring states, the bifurcation problems with Andhra Pradesh would be settled with patience and wisdom.
A meeting is scheduled on Friday in Vijayawada to discuss the division of the RTC's properties between Telangana and AP, and as a prelude, a preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at Pragati Bhavan to finalise Telangana's stand on the matter. Minister P Mahender Reddy, MDC Chairman Seri Subhash Reddy, Whip Palla Vishweswar Reddy, Principal Secretaries S Narsing Rao, Ramakrishna Rao and Sunil Sharma, TSRTC MD Ramana Rao and others participated.
"Whatever guidelines are adopted whenever states are bifurcated in the country, were implemented at the time of the bifurcation of AP. In case of any problems and issues, both the states should solve them across the table. There has to be a capability to reach an understanding on issues. If not, the Centre will interfere. If the problems persist, the Supreme Court has issued guidelines to resolve them," the CM said.
"The division of APSRTC is a direct fallout of the AP bifurcation. The state bifurcation rules will apply to the APSRTC division, too. The properties will be distributed in accordance with the AP Reorganization Bill passed by Parliament. The Board has no powers over this,” the CM clarified.
He instructed the officials concerned to voice the same at the Vijayawada meeting.
