State Minister Basavaraju Saraiah on Thursday slammed the opposition parties for targeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the ruling party for its decision on Telangana formation.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here, Saraiah said that the decision on Telangana was taken by the Congress Working Committee and the UPA Coordination Committee only after all the opposition parties had announced their support for the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He added that opposition parties chose to change their stand after the announcement of Telangana and were now blaming the Congress president for the same.
Saraiah demanded that the opposition parties not only stop blaming Sonia Gandhi, but also tender an apology for their remarks against her. (INN)
