In a major boost to the BJP in Telangana, Bajrang Dal State Vice-President Jivan and hundreds of youth from the Congress and the BRS today formally joined the party.
Welcoming the new entrants at the party office, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao said that the BJP was a youth-driven party that offered a strong political future to committed and sincere young leaders. He cited the appointment of 45-year-old Nitin Nabin as BJP national working president as proof of the party's emphasis on youth leadership, and said that its youth were the backbone of the party.
Rao urged the youth of Telangana to strengthen the BJP to unseat the "corrupt Congress government" in the next Assembly elections and expose its failures. He also called upon party workers to work towards winning the next Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
Earlier, Rao felicitated Jivan by draping him with the BJP scarf. State BJP chief official spokesperson and media in-charge N V Subhash, Medchal Urban District former BJP president Kanta Rao, and other senior leaders were present at the event.
