B'Hills Police Cracks Down On Cock-Fights

Most of the participants were found to be drivers of VIPs residing in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, and Film Nagar areas, and were betting on behalf on their employers.

The illegal practice of betting on cock-fights, which was so far found mostly in the districts of Coastal Andhra, has now been found occuring in Hyderabad as well. The Banjara Hills police, following a lead, caught and arrested 20 people betting on a cock-fight at Ganapathi Complex, which is en route from Srinagar Colony to Yellareddyguda.

Most of the participants were found to be drivers of VIPs residing in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, and Film Nagar areas. These VIPS, supposedly originally from Visakhapatnam and West Godavari districts, were allegedly having their drivers bet lakhs of rupees on cock-fights on behalf of them. Banjara Hills inspector Murali Krishna said that these cock-fights had been going on at Ganapathi Complex for quite sometime now, and that they were finally able to catch the offenders red-handed.
