Avoid Delays In Irrigation Projects: KCR To Staff
Against the traditional system of completing projects over decades, KCR asserted that the TRS government wanted to complete major projects in just 3 years.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today emphasized the need for removing administrative delays and hurdles to provide hassle-free and speedy services for the poor, especially in regard to the completion of irrigation projects.
Against the traditional system of completing projects over decades, he asserted that the TRS government wanted to complete major projects in just 3 years.
He felt that the ongoing projects such as the Palamur and Dindi on the Krishna river, and the Kaleshwaram, Pranahitha and Dummugudem on the Godavari river should be completed as per schedule with coordinated efforts.
Heading a review meeting with officials on irrigation at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister stressed the need to avoid delays in constructing irrigation projects.
He directed the officials to not only prepare a plan to avoid delays but also ensure that bills were paid to the contractors on time.
Expressing satisfaction over land acquisition for the projects, the Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare a plan to directly clear bills in the irrigation sector through budgetary allocations.
Every year Rs 25,000 crores would be allotted for Mission Kakatiya, and 1% incentive should be given to the contractors working in three shifts for the speedy completion of the projects, he said.
