The Auto Parirakshana Porata Committee consisting of 17 unions including Auto Owners Association on Wednesday called for 'Auto Bandh' and 'Chalo Assembly' on December 14th to press for increasing the existing auto fares and other issues.
Talking to media persons, Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee convener Mohd Amanullah Khan alleged that the state government had not affected an increase in the existing auto fares so far, despite abnormal hike in the prices of fuel and in essential commodities.
He urged the government and Transport Minister Botsa Satyanaraya to address the problems of auto drivers.
If the government failed to come to talks before December 13th, the Auto Parirakshana Porata Committee would observe bandh in the twin cities on December 14th, he stated.
The committee resorted to bandh as the government had not taken any step after they staged agitation on November 23rd, he stated.
