The Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, on Monday, paid tribute to Avanigadda MLA Ambati Brahmanaiah, who had passed away recently.
As soon as the House met at 10 am on Monday, Speaker Nadendla Manohar announced the name of the deceased and asked all members to observe two minutes of silence to pay homage. Later, speaking during the condolence meeting, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy lauded the services rendered by Ambati Brahmanaiah for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Leader of the opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, Y S Vijayalakhsmi Reddy (YSRCP), Pocharam Srinivas Reddy (TRS), E Lakshmi Narayana (BJP), J Ranga Reddy (CPI), G Mallesh (CPI-M), Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan (LS), Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu (TDP) and other ministers - Botsa Satyanarayana, K Parthasarathy and G Aruna Kumari - paid rich tributes to Brahmanaiah. The leaders demanded that Brahmanaiah's statue be installed in Machlipatnam and that a statue be named after him. (INN)
