Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) party president Asaduddin Owaisi today urged the Muslims of the state and the country to observe their holy Ramzan fasts and offer prayers in their homes keeping in view the ongoing lockdown.
He also urged the Muslims to avoid congregational prayers in their homes.
He also urged the Muslims to do a lot of charity throughout the holy month to ensure that no poor person slept with a hungry stomach.
Moving on to politics, the leader urged the union government to take steps to send all migrant workers to their native places after the withdrawal of the lockdown in the country.
He also urged the Centre to allow some economic activities after the lifting of the lockdown, but urged it to continue its restrictions on cinema halls and public meetings.
Targeting PM Narendra Modi, he alleged that the lockdown imposed by the PM without any planning had devastated the lives of the poor people and the migrant workers of the country.
He also alleged that the Centre had failed in coming to the rescue of the migrant workers.
Referring to a survey report, Owaisi said that 90% of the migrant workers received neither ration nor their salaries.
Claiming that 10 crore people would lose their jobs due to the lockdown, he demanded that the PM prepare an action plan to ensure that nobody lost their job.
He also demanded that the central government supply the rice stocks in the FCI to the poor of the country.
